A Place for Meow

Rescue

              Rapid City, South Dakota, USA

About Us:

We are local to Rapid City SD and the Black Hills area; we strive for safe and healthy homes for all of our rescues!

Jennifer Cramer (Vice president) founded this rescue in 2018 by stumbling across cats in need. Her passion grew and she has been a staple to our community by being a safe place for these cats and kittens to go when hope has failed them. Jennifer cannot and will not allow them to be in harm's way nor will she allow for them to be in need. Her reputation has exploded in our community therefore she has recruited her team!

Abbee Draine (First officer) of Sturgis shares Jen's passion and commitment to the care and the well-being of the cats and kittens of our community. Abbee specializes in neonate kitten care and spends many hours a day nursing these babies back to health!

Stacy Stover (President) shares the desire and passion to rescue and provide for these cats and kittens. She has a soft spot for senior and adult cats in need. Stacy has been rescuing and rehoming animals for many years on her own and has now joined our team!

Amber McMillin (Treasurer/Secretary) has a heart of gold and will never stop helping others. By nature, and professionally she is a caregiver! She is an amazing asset to our team bringing empathy, compassion and the desire to help in all ways possible.

Lastly, we would like to introduce our newest member of the A Place For Meow board:

Haley McAllister (Second Officer) stumbled upon us by accident when her vet mentioned she may be able to help us out. She came to South Dakota from Massachusetts as a traveling nurse. She has always been passionate about kittens, but it doesn't stop there, her heart is open to all ages and temperaments. Feral kitties are no match for her. She tries to tame them all. Haley is a valuable asset to our organization.

Together we make an amazing team and with the help of our fosters we are making miracles happen within our community! Our hope is that one day, we will be able to have control of the stray and unwanted population and are able to keep up with the needs of our community.

A Place For Meow Rescue is a foster based rescue, meaning, we do not have a physical location and all of our kitties are in foster care. We survive on the kindness of the community! Our adoption fees help but we rely heavily on donations! If you would like to help support our mission, please visit the donation tab.
